The Merchants Manufactures and Professionals Health Plans (formerly the Merchants Manufactures and Professionals Multiple Employer Trust) was established in 1978 to provide small employer groups with 1-99 benefit eligible employees with enterprise-level group medical, dental, life and short-term disability insurance.

Prior to 2005, participation in the trust required prior membership in a sponsoring Montgomery, Delaware, or Berks County Chamber of Commerce. As a member of a sponsoring Chamber of Commerce and meeting other underwriting qualifications, small employers were able.
